The Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library is more than a playspace, more than a lending library for great toys – it's a community as well. Come often to keep in touch with what's going on! Word Play, our bi-monthly web-based newsletter, keeps members up to date on news and events at the Toy Library. Every year there is something new at the Toy Library. Last year we redesigned the play area; we now have a quiet reading and napping area secluded from all of the loud play. For the adults, we have nice comfortable new couches and chairs.

Reduced hours and closings
We will have reduced hours July 7 - Aug. 8. Our hours during this time will be 9:30-1 M-F and 10-12 on Saturdays.
We will be closed for cleaning Aug. 9 - Sept. 1. The last day to check out toys is July 12. The toy library will re-open on Sept. 2.
Get involved...
Come to our next board meeting! All are welcome at our monthly meetings, held at the Toy Lending Library on the first Saturday of each month. The Toy Lending Library's playspace will be closed on these days. The next meeting is at 9:30am on August 9th.

Regular events at the Toy Library include our garage sales, and a spring nighttime event, which is both a fundraiser and a great night out for our caregivers and their friends. Our schedule varies from year to year, but here is an approximate guide to the year's events:
Every spring, usually in May, we hold a major fundraiser, such as a dance or wine tasting and silent auction.
We remain open as long as volunteers are available, usually through June and July. We close for the summer in August so that the Toy Library – and ALL of the toys in it! – can be thoroughly cleaned.
We re-open in early September after Labor Day. We sometimes host a Halloween party. We have an annual rummage sale featuring toys, some donated by members and some that are "retired" from the playspace, plus other items such as baby backpacks and high chairs.
In December, we usually close for winter break according to the schedule of Pittsburgh Public Schools. Call to see if we're open before planning a visit during this time.
